Job summary

Bay de Noc Community College is seeking a Library Assistant on the Escanaba campus. The role supports the Library's mission, assists with daily operations, user services, and program displays while contributing to a welcoming environment for students, staff, and the community.

This part-time position (20 hours per week) may include evening shifts during fall and winter terms, with a focus on customer service and basic technology support.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related field.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population in a courteous and professional manner.
• Excellent customer service skills and a commitment to patron-centered services.
• Willingness to learn and troubleshoot various computer programs and technologies.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as initial customer service contact at the Library main desk.
• Assist in day-to-day library operations, including opening and closing.
• Assist at front desk with circulation functions and patron services.
• Perform clerical duties and communicate with supervisors on improvements.
• Assist in planning themes, displays, and library programs for campuses.
• Supervise work-study students and maintain overdue/billed item records.
