Job summary

The Anderson County Library is seeking a part-time clerk to work 15-20 hours per week across branches in Anderson County, including Iva, Honea Path, Belton, Williamston, Piedmont, Powdersville, Pendleton, and Downtown Anderson. A valid driver's license and own transportation are required.

Responsibilities include circulation tasks, assisting patrons, reshelving, and general clerical duties; some daytime, evening, and weekend hours may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Excellent computer skills essential.
• One year of customer service and/or library work experience preferred.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepares items for reshelving and reshelves as necessary.
• Retrieves and sorts books from book drops.
• Performs circulation duties: issuing library cards, charging, discharging, placing requests, and recording fines.
• Assists patrons with directions, services, policies, and using the online catalog.
• Dusting shelves and furniture, cleaning restrooms, and vacuuming.
• Covers hours for staff on vacation or illness as needed.
• Maintains confidentiality of patron records and handles office equipment supplies.
• Other duties as assigned.
