Job summary

The Huntsville-Madison County Public Library is seeking a Library Clerk I to assist library patrons with the use of resources and services at a Downtown Huntsville Public Library location. This is a part-time position with a 20 hour per week schedule.

Salary is $12.50 per hour and the schedule includes 1-2 weeknights and two weekends per month. The role involves routine circulation tasks, patron assistance, and using the library management system to check items in and out.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in library or customer service is desirable.
• Ability to operate computer and library systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons with basic circulation tasks and information inquiries.
• Check books in/out, maintain patron records, shelve materials, and perform inventory.
• Operate library systems and other office equipment; respond to questions and direct to appropriate staff.
