Job summary

The Prairie Commons Branch of the St. Louis County Library is hiring a part-time Library Associate to perform circulation, reference, and clerical duties to meet the needs of Library customers.

Salary is $18.35 an hour. Hours: Tuesday, Thursday 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.; Saturday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; one Sunday per month. The position emphasizes excellent public service and customer assistance, including training in library skills and computing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Commitment to high level of public service to Library customers.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs circulation duties and maintains accurate customer records.
• Interviews customers to assess needs and provide information.
• Assists with public access computing and library skills instruction.
• Performs clerical duties to organize materials and support services.
• Participates in projects, outreach, and programming to enhance service.
