Job summary

Bedford Public Library System is seeking a Part-Time Library Assistant II for the Stewartsville Library. The role involves serving the public, planning weekly story time for ages 0-3, and supporting patrons with materials and devices. Candidates should be comfortable with technology and able to lift 25 pounds.

Flexible schedule includes five or more hours daily at a computer. Position is part-time (13 hours/week) with starting pay $14.61/hr, and benefits include participation in the Commonwealth

Qualifications

• Part-time Library Assistant II requires an associate’s degree or higher.
• Ability to work with groups of children and teens and plan weekly story times.
• Comfort with technology and ability to lift 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Handle circulation desk procedures and assist patrons with materials.
• Shelving materials and organizing library resources.
• Assist patrons with materials selection and answer policy questions.
• Troubleshoot basic technology and devices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
