Job summary

Bedford Public Library System in Stewartsville is seeking a Part-Time Library Assistant II to support public service at the Stewartsville Library. You will assist patrons, handle circulation tasks, shelve materials, and help with technology support on a daily basis.

The role requires the ability to work with children and teens, plan and present weekly story times for ages 0-3, lift up to 25 pounds, and use library apps, e-readers, iPads, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Part-Time Library Assistant II – Stewartsville Library requires a background in public service and the ability to work with groups of children and teens.
• Must be able to plan and present a weekly story time for ages 0-3 and assist with other programs as needed.
• Candidates should be comfortable with technology, learn new software, and use MS Office and basic office machines.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons with materials and policies at the circulation desk.
• Shelve materials and assist with shelving accuracy and organization.
• Troubleshoot basic technology issues and support library apps, devices, e-readers, and tablets.
