Job summary

Bergen Community College's Paramus campus is seeking a Part-Time Library Assistant to support Library Media Services at the Pitkin Education Building and provide back-up service at Paramus and Meadowlands locations.

The role involves explaining library policies, advising on computer and media equipment use for academic work, assisting with media devices and tablets, and helping maintain the library catalog and Internet searches.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent required.
• One year in public services and using a multifaceted integrated library system or equivalent.
• May work some weekends and at different locations.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and move throughout the building.

The Library Assistant - Media will be responsible for assisting in all basic operations of the Library Media Services at the Pitkin Education Building of the Paramus campus, and will be trained to provide back-up service at the Library Service Desks for both Paramus and Meadowlands locations.

Physical requirements: Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and to move throughout the library, or within the building to assist faculty and students.
