Job summary

The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District is hiring a Library Aide I for Whitney Library in Las Vegas, NV. This part-time position supports lending, returns, customer service, and basic clerical duties in a busy public library.

You will assist with check-out/in, help patrons locate resources, and participate in library programs, with a weekly schedule of 12 hours. Qualifications include a minimum of a 10th-grade education and 6 months of customer service experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires completion of tenth grade or higher.
• 6 months of customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to learn Library of Congress Classification and ILS.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.

Responsibilities

• Sorts and reshelves returned books and materials.
• Assist customers with check-out and check-in; support ILS functions.
• Answer routine questions and guide patrons to library resources.
• Support library programs and perform routine clerical tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
