Job summary

West Valley College in Saratoga, CA (and Mission College, Santa Clara, CA) invites applications for a Part-Time Librarian in the Associate Faculty pool. The position is per-semester, up to 67% of full-time workload, with duties in reference, collection development, instruction, and support for students in person and online.

Assignments are made to meet curriculum needs across Spring, Summer, and Fall, with potential evening or weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in library science or library & information science (or equivalent)
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse backgrounds
• Experience with library instruction and reference support preferred

Responsibilities

• Work with students at the reference desk
• Provide reference assistance for students and staff
• Evaluate, select, and discard print and non-print library materials
• Provide bibliographic instruction for students
• Maintain accurate records and comply with state requirements
