Position Summary

The College is seeking part-time lecturers who are passionate about inspiring, teaching and supporting the academic success of students enrolled in the Second Chance Pell Program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Teach courses within the assigned discipline area in accordance with institutional standards.

  • Evaluate and assess student learning outcomes.

  • Provide student support, mentoring, and academic advising.

  • Develop curriculum and periodically review and update instructional materials.



Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree or equivalent in the subject matter.



  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, including individuals with disabilities.

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).



Preferred Qualifications


  • One year or more of teaching-related college-level courses (24+ credits).

  • Experience using technology to enhance the learning environment, e.g., Blackboard, online instruction or other modalities/software.



Special Requirements

Incumbent must go through a complete Department of Corrections Background check and attend a 3‑hour Volunteer, Intern and Professional Partner (VIP) training on safety and security.



Salary

Salary $2,352 per contact/credit hour ($7,056 for a 3-credit course).
