Job summary

University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point invites applications for an Associate Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in the Department of Physics and Astronomy. This is a part-time, salaried, exempt, academic-year (9-month) instructional staff position with per-course hiring across semesters.

Teaching hours vary with a load of 1–12 credits per semester; on-site is listed, with potential for partial remote or remote opportunities depending on need.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a field related to physics, astronomy, engineering, or education, plus or including a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in physics and astronomy
• Relevant work or teaching experience
• Must be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Master's degree in physics or astronomy
• Experience teaching diverse groups and/or college-level teaching experience

Responsibilities

• Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
• Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
• Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
