Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Eastern Territory is hiring a part-time Learning Zone Tutor for the Haven of Hope Community Center in Philadelphia. Immediate start, evenings and weekends required. You will develop lesson plans, tutor students, and help manage records while supporting other center activities.

Qualifications include a high school diploma with tutoring experience; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required. A PA driver’s license is often needed for outreach and programming support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required with tutoring/teaching experience.
• Bachelor’s degree completed or in-progress is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements lesson plans for students using Math and English curricula.
• Assists with homework and provides academic tutoring, group or individual.
• Maintains daily/weekly student progress, attendance, and behavior records.
• Serves as a positive role model and supports community center programming as directed.
