Job summary

University of Minnesota is seeking adjunct instructors to teach the Leadership Minor courses at Twin Cities campus. Responsibilities include leading LEAD courses, engaging students with active-learning methods, and supervising Teaching Interns.

Open continuously; hours total around 10 per week per section, with 25% time per course. Sponsorship is not available. Strong commitment to inclusive teaching and student development is required.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering teaching or training that is inclusive, interactive, accessible, and equity-driven.
• Schedule availability for open courses
• Knowledge of student development theory and practice

Responsibilities

• Teach a LEAD course or courses, including engaging in-class lecture, utilizing active learning methods, offering constructive feedback, coaching and grading student work.
• Manage 6-10 community partnerships per semester when teaching LEAD 3971.
• Collaborate with unit staff for curriculum adaptations and promoting unit initiatives.
• Create accessible and interactive learning experiences using Canvas and course materials.
• Maintain timely communication with students and offer office hours.
• Provide accountability and coaching while supporting student development.
• Utilize campus resources for student support and development.
• Participate in instructor training and complete required University of Minnesota training.
