Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker who can lead in the absence of management and provide exemplary customer service. You will unload trucks, stock and rotate merchandise, and help manage plan-o-grams while ensuring a clean, safe store environment.

The role requires strong math and cash-handling skills, effective communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail setting. Relocation is not offered; benefits include health options and 401(k) plans.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including accountability and deposits.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of safety and loss-prevention policies.
• Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise; rotate and face items on shelves.
• Assist customers in locating products and maintain clean, organized store areas.
• Operate cash register, collect payment, and provide bagging services.
• Maintain plan-o-grams and merchandise displays; support in-store setup and displays.
• Open/close the store under direction of Area Manager; ensure cashier accountability.
