Job summary

Chemeketa Community College is seeking adjunct faculty to instruct in drill, online, and in-person lecture formats at the Brooks Regional Training Center. The program values diversity, equity, and applicant engagement with the community.

The role supports a long history of first-responder training and serves as the primary/lead instructor when assigned. Ideal applicants will hold an associate degree in fire protection or equivalent, with relevant NFPA certifications and EMS delivery experience.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in fire protection or equivalent
• Three (3) years full- time work experience with agencies providing fire protection services
• Minimum certification at National Fire Protection Association Fire Fighter I, Fire Instructor I, or equivalent.
• Experience in Emergency Medical Services delivery
• Ability to earn AAS degree within 3 years of employment
• Five (5) years full-time work experience with agencies providing fire protection services
• Evidence of participation and leadership in professional organizations, conferences, and/or state and local committees relating to fire protection and/or education.

Responsibilities

• Teaches classes as assigned, following current approved course outlines
• Meets during scheduled class times
• Prepares and develops materials for assigned classes/labs according to program expectations
• Provides students with class syllabi
• Delivers course content using appropriate methods for student needs and program curriculum
• Maintains student records of grades and attendance in accordance with college procedures
• Responds to student inquiries and provides feedback in a timely manner
