Job summary

The Clark County Law Library is seeking a part-time Assistant Law Librarian to support daily library operations and assist patrons, attorneys, and judges. The role involves updating materials, managing circulation, and helping maintain the website.

The candidate should have experience with legal terminology and research methods, be able to pass a background check, and preferably hold a law degree with familiarity in Lexis or Westlaw. Flexible scheduling is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience with legal terminology and research methods.
• Background check required.
• Part-time work availability.
• Experience in a legal setting or law library preferred.
• Lexis or Westlaw experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the public, attorneys, and judges in using the Law Library.
• Maintain and update materials and ready reference collection and form kits.
• Assist with updating the Law Library website and online resources.
• Conduct reference interviews to determine patrons' material needs and provide direction.
• Develop and maintain self-help form kits and other reference materials.
• Monitor legislative changes and court rules to ensure current information is available to patrons.
• Collaborate with the Law Librarian on collection decisions and outreach.
