Job summary

Martenson, Hasbrouck & Simon LLP seeks a 3rd year law student for a part-time law clerk role in our Orange County office, approximately 15–20 hours per week, with scheduling to fit law school commitments. You will gain hands-on experience in employment litigation defense, working closely with attorneys on a range of matters.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a 3rd year law student at an ABA-accredited law school
• Strong academic record and demonstrated interest in litigation and/or employment law
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong legal analysis and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills
• Preferred candidate plans to sit for the California State Bar Examination following graduation and pursue admission to the California State Bar

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, discovery and other litigation documents
• Assist with case strategy and preparation, and participate in client communications and case-related meetings
