Caltech's Protein Expression Center in the Beckman Institute is seeking an assistant to operate a labware washing system and prepare equipment for reuse. This on-site role offers up to 10 hours per week with a flexible schedule, ideal for students or staff seeking light lab support work.

Responsibilities include washing labware, organizing and returning items to storage, maintaining a clean work area, performing routine checks, and securely shutting down the washing station at shift end.

Qualifications

• Completed coursework in biology or a related field.
• Some laboratory experience.
• Ability to follow instructions carefully.
• Ability to work independently and reliably.

Responsibilities

• Wash laboratory labware.
• Sort, organize, and return clean labware to designated storage cabinets.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
• Perform routine equipment checks and report any issues.
• Shut down and secure the washing station at the end of each shift.
