Responsibilities

• Receive and log specimens in the LIS and assign accession numbers.
• Prepare specimens per reference lab requirements.
• Enter tests into the LIS and document cancellations.
• Maintain work area and stock supplies.
• Transport specimens to lab sections as required.
• Answer phones and provide reports to nursing floors and offsite facilities.
• Generate and distribute laboratory reports as needed.
• Record daily temperatures of fridges/freezers.
• Adhere to universal precautions and safety policies.
• Assist in training new employees under supervisor.
