Job summary

Maricopa County Community College District seeks a Part Time Lab Technician to support the Rio Salado College semiconductor instructional lab. The role involves equipment prep and maintenance, safety compliance, and direct hands-on support for faculty and students during lab sessions.

The position is grant-funded with a projected end date in 2027, and is scheduled for up to 19.5 hours per week, primarily afternoons.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications require an Associate's Degree and one year of lab experience maintaining equipment, supplies, or facilities.
• Equivalent combination of degree and directly related work experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, prepares, and calibrates lab equipment for semiconductor-related processes such as photolithography, metrology, vacuum systems and characterization.
• Assists faculty by developing training aids and lab setups, and supports students during lab sessions with real-time assistance.
• Monitors lab safety, maintains MSDS and safety documentation, and ensures PPE and cleanroom procedures are followed.
• Inventories, procures, and organizes lab supplies and consumables specific to semiconductor instruction.
• Supports logistics for outreach and industry-aligned professional development events, including equipment transport and setup.
• Maintains lab usage records, student participation, and industry engagement documentation.
• Participates in department meetings and helps improve instructional lab activities in coordination with staff.
