Job summary

Saint Luke's South Hospital in Overland Park, KS is seeking a part-time Lab Support Tech to join our team. You will collect patient specimens, ensure accurate labeling, and support routine laboratory processes in accordance with policy and regulatory standards.

You will correlate specimens to provider test orders in the LIS/EMR, perform Point of Care testing when required, and communicate clearly with nursing staff to relay information about sample collections and statuses.

Responsibilities

• Collects patient specimens in accordance with laboratory's policy, procedures and regulatory standards.
• Correlates patient samples to provider laboratory test orders in the LIS/EMR.
• Performs and reports Point of Care laboratory testing as required.
• Uses education and experience to identify and resolve patient circumstances that might interfere with accurate sample collection.
• Communicates effectively with nursing and unit staff to relay information concerning patient collections.
