Job summary

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is seeking a part‑time Research Services Technologist to provide timely clinical care and management to a diverse population of lab animals. This 60% FTE role requires 24 hours per week, with potential early morning or late evening shifts.

The incumbent collaborates with researchers and veterinarians, performs procedures as applicable, and maintains proper documentation. Licensing and ongoing training are required per SJCRH guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's in Lab Animal Science, Biology, Toxicology, or Agricultural preferred.
• Minimum 4+ years in a professional animal care facility; or 2+ years with an Associate degree; or no experience with Bachelor's degree.
• Some experience with software tools to maintain documentation/records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute routine tasks within area with limited guidance (vet services: health triage; research: colony maintenance; sample collection).
• Perform assigned procedures within area (necropsy, euthanasia; PK/PD projects & surgical procedures) as applicable.
• Troubleshoot, report, and record issues with equipment/processes within area.
• Monitor own delivery for compliance with SOPs and guidelines.
• Inform researchers and veterinarians of findings and unusual observations in a timely manner.
• Maintain documentation (medical records, process logs, billing reports) as applicable.
• Perform other duties to meet department goals; maintain regular attendance.
