Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle is seeking a part-time Lab Aide to support development, testing, and use of CRISPR-Cas9 libraries and technology in mammals. The role involves molecular biology techniques and requires attention to detail and reliable organization.

Hours are 10–16 per week with flexible scheduling after training. Entry-level position ideal for gaining hands-on skills in a research lab environment within the Paddison Lab, Human Biology Division.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with an interest in the sciences.
• Enrollment in a university program, with enrollment or planned enrollment in a science-based degree preferred.
• Past laboratory experience or coursework in biology/chemistry is desirable.
• Experience with molecular biology techniques is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare media and reagents, such as stock solutions.
• Rinse and prepare glassware for cleaning. Deliver glassware to storage areas.
• Maintain a clean and orderly laboratory area.
• Clean and maintain lab equipment.
• May check and replenish supplies.
• May assist with experiments and set-up.
• Perform clerical duties as required. Perform other related duties as assigned.
