Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle is seeking a part-time Lab Aide for the Gujral Laboratory within the Human Biology Division. You will assist with ongoing studies focusing on how cells respond to external stimuli, including disease-related factors, and have opportunities to present research during lab meetings.

The role provides exposure to tissue culture, biochemical assays, and PCR-based techniques while working with a dedicated research team in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with an interest in the sciences.
• Ideal candidate would be pursuing a degree in Biology or a related field.
• Some lab experience and/or college-level biology and chemistry courses preferred.
• Attention to detail, a high level of initiative, and excellent communication skills.
• Flexible and able to work independently without supervision.
• Works well collaborating with others.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities.
• Enrolled at present in relevant science coursework.

Responsibilities

• Routine lab maintenance including tissue culture.
• Collaborate with members of the research team on various projects.
• Prepare tissue and cell-based samples and carry out biochemical and PCR-based assays.
• Candidates will also have the opportunity to present their research during lab meetings.
