Job summary

Hillel at the University of Vermont is seeking a reliable Kitchen and Facility Manager to support Jewish student life through food, hospitality, and care for the Burack Hillel Center.

This part-time, in-person role focuses on meal preparation, kosher kitchen upkeep, and event support. You will work approximately 20-25 hours weekly with regular Friday availability for Shabbat prep and dinners, plus events around holidays. Pay ranges $25-$30 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking for groups in a kitchen setting.
• Experience in a communal or kosher kitchen is preferred or willingness to learn.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy student-centered environment.
• A driver’s license and access to transportation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve meals for Shabbat dinners, holidays, and events.
• Plan menus with Hillel staff and student leaders.
• Maintain kitchen inventory and order supplies.
• Ensure food safety and accommodate dietary needs.
• Set up and clean up after programs and events.
