Job summary

The Trillium is seeking a reliable Dishwasher/Steward to join our kitchen team in McLean, VA. This part-time role focuses on keeping dishes, cookware, and work areas clean to support smooth service. The position requires physical stamina and adherence to sanitation guidelines.

Ideal candidates will have prior kitchen experience, be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and communicate in English. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays is preferred.

• Prior kitchen experience in a restaurant or retirement community
• Ability to speak, read, and write English
• Must be able to pass a background check
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods

Responsibilities

• Wash, sanitize, and properly store all dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of dishwashing and kitchen areas
• Receive, unload, and stock all food and beverage deliveries in appropriate storage areas
• Ensure proper rotation and storage of inventory (FIFO method)
• Take out trash and recycling regularly, maintaining clean waste areas
• Clean and sanitize refrigerators, freezers, and other kitchen equipment as scheduled
• Assist with deep cleaning and special projects as assigned by the Executive Chef
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
