Job summary

Harlem Children's Zone (HCZ) seeks a part-time Server for the Promise Academy Kitchen to deliver dining services in a fast-paced environment, aligned with HCZ's mission to support children and families. You will work 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday, plating meals, maintaining sanitation, stocking stations, and ensuring guest satisfaction while promoting healthy nutrition.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Valid DOH NYC Food Protection Certificate required.
• Minimum of two years experience in food service or customer service.
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
• Basic culinary knowledge of product identification, terminology, and production.

Responsibilities

• Plate meals according to proper portion sizes.
• Set up, breakdown, and re-set serving lines and after-meal service.
• Stock side stations and other designated areas before each meal service.
• Maintain sanitary conditions and practice a 'Clean as you Go' approach.
• Know the daily menu, possible allergens, and assist with breakfast/lunch participation.
• Handle guest feedback and resolve issues to satisfactory results.
