Job summary

All Saints Parish Center of Charity Friendship Room in Alpena, MI is seeking a part-time Kitchen Organizer to support daily meal preparation and donation-based programs. The role involves coordinating food pickups, prepping ingredients, and maintaining safe storage and sanitation practices, working with volunteers and staff.

This position offers up to 19 hours per week at $16.00/hour, with duties centered in the Center of Charity Friendship Room’s kitchen to serve community members in need.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items as needed.
• Experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Food Pick-Up (Nights and Weekends): Coordinate and manage the pickup of food supplies from donors and suppliers during nights and weekends.
• Kitchen Prep Work: Assist with preparation of ingredients, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
• Food Rotation: Monitor and manage rotation of food items to ensure freshness and minimize waste; label and date items.
• Inventory Management: Track inventory levels and notify kitchen manager when supplies run low; keep storage areas organized.
• Sanitation: Maintain a clean kitchen environment following health and safety regulations.
• Team Collaboration: Work with kitchen staff and management to ensure smooth operations.
