Job summary

Koru Health is seeking a part-time kitchen assistant to support the Culinary Manager with daily kitchen activities and ensure smooth operation in their absence. The role involves cooking a wide range of foods to meet customer requirements and maintain high standards of hygiene.

Responsibilities include preparing and serving meals, assisting staff, following safety procedures, handling dietary requests, and helping with event planning as needed.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of culinary experience.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with senior customers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals to customers; accommodate dietary requirements.
• Work with Culinary Manager to determine needs and provide input for menu item selection.
• Ensure kitchen and dining staff follow safe handling procedures and hygiene practices; attend regulatory training as needed.
• Assist wait staff in describing menu items and ingredients to customers.
• Maintain cleanliness and safe operation of all kitchen equipment; report any hazards.
• Support rest of restaurant team and wrap up shift duties.
