Job summary

Middlebury College is seeking a temporary, part-time kitchen associate to support Retail Food Operations. Weekday lunch-hour availability is required. The role is non-benefits eligible with a starting hourly rate of $20.52–$25.13.

Responsibilities include prepping meats, vegetables and other foods, leading production, and maintaining sanitation standards. Occasional alcohol service and basic POS duties may be required. Minimum age 18 and a HS diploma are necessary.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of experience in food service, grocery, restaurant, or a related field or an acceptable education/experience mix.
• Ability to work cooperatively, manage time, and follow directions in a team setting.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other foods for cooking on ovens, broilers, grills, fryers and other equipment.
• Lead food production work including cutting vegetables, meats and cheeses and oven/toaster prep.
• Follow standard portion sizes and kitchen policies and procedures.
• Occasionally serve alcohol and assist with front-of-house operations including basic cash handling.
