Job summary

Quest Food Management Services is seeking a part-time dishwasher/kitchen assistant in Highland Park, IL. You will perform pot washing, dishwashing, general cleaning, and storage of supplies while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation across the dish area, kitchen, cafeteria and loading dock.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, the ability to perform basic arithmetic, and compliance with Food Handler certification requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic as well as to understand measurements and conversions.
• Responsible for meeting and maintaining state and local certification requirements (Food Handler certification).
• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Previous experience in the food service industry working in schools / higher education.

Responsibilities

• Set up cutting boards, trash cans, mats, dish machines and pot sinks.
• Organize pot shelves for easy access by kitchen staff.
• Wash all soiled kitchen equipment and pots/pans to sanitation standards.
• Maintain trash management and recycling procedures.
• Ensure floors are swept and mopped to prevent slips.
• Empty dish machine and pot sink every two hours or as needed; use clean water and chemicals.
• Maintain high level of cleanliness in all kitchen areas; end-of-day cleaning.
• Perform daily and weekly cleaning schedule.
• Distribute and store clean pots, dishes, and utensils.
• Record sanitizing solution concentrations in dish machine and 3-compartment sink.
• Clean and sanitize production equipment and work surfaces.
• Keep floor drains clean and free of dirt, grease and trash.
• Follow Quest policies and food safety guidelines.
• Report to scheduled shifts on time and in complete uniform.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
