Job summary

IMPACCT Brooklyn is hiring an Assistant Cook to join our kitchen team, assisting with meal prep, service, and maintaining a clean, sanitary workspace. You will help with inventory, deliveries, storage, and cleanliness to uphold NYC health standards.

The role is part-time, non-exempt, 20 hours per week, with schedule 3:00 PM–7:00 PM, Monday–Friday. Evening/weekend shifts possible to meet service needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must hold a NYC Department of Health Food Protection Certificate or be able to obtain one within 2–4 months of hire.
• Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Properly cleaning and sanitizing all food preparation areas according to hygiene standards.
• Washing and storing all cooking appliances, instruments, utensils, cutting boards, and dishes.
• Assisting with meal ingredient prep under the Cook's guidance.
• Organizing, cleaning and properly storing food supplies.
