Job summary

The Met in Providence, RI is seeking a Part-Time Kitchen Staff member to join its dining team. This position offers up to 29 hours per week, at $16.00 per hour, with the academic year schedule and temporary status.

You will help prepare and serve meals at satellite sites, maintain clean workspaces, follow ServSafe standards (training provided), and support daily kitchen operations. The role requires physical stamina and reliability to lift up to 40 lbs and drive to satellite campuses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ServSafe certification required or training provided.
• Ability to interact positively with students and staff daily.
• Background check (BCI) required for alcohol/drug-free status.
• Ability to read and follow directions.
• Able to stand for several hours and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Team player with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, hygienic food prep areas.
• Follow safe food handling procedures.
• Wear proper attire: closed-toe shoes, non-skid footwear and clean apron as needed; hair net as required.
• Assist in day-to-day kitchen operations and meal service at satellite sites.
• Set up satellite sites before meals and serve breakfast and lunch.
• Assist with basic food prep such as chopping and peeling.
• Clean the kitchen and supporting areas.
• Must be able to drive to satellite campus.
• Other duties as assigned.
