Job summary

AERRC in Alaska is seeking a Kitchen Aide to support the kitchen manager in providing a quality, nutritious, cost-effective meal program for students and staff.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily meal preparation, basic data handling, and strict confidentiality of information. Candidates should have a high school diploma, basic math skills, and be able to complete a Food Handler course within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mathematical skills including basic calculations.
• Basic knowledge of computer and keyboarding skills to include Microsoft Office and Google Suite products, as well as basic troubleshooting.
• Ability to work with detailed information/data and maintain strict confidentiality of written and oral information and records.
• Per DEC regulations, must have or be able to pass Food Handlers course 30 days after hire and maintain the card.

Job Summary:

The duties performed by a kitchen aide are broad and flexible. Assists the kitchen manager to ensure that a quality, nutritious, cost effective meal program is available daily to students and staff.

New Hire Starting Hourly Rate:

Grade 3: $17.59 - $19.59 DOE

Internal Hourly Rate:

Determined by the ESSA Negotiated Agreement

Work Hours:

Start times vary depending on individual school sites, but most positions work between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Work Year:

9 months
