Job summary

AERRC in Fairbanks, Alaska is seeking a detail-oriented school meals assistant to prepare pre-plated meals for NSLP-regulated programs, ensuring nutritious, cost-effective meals for students, staff, and the community.

The position runs 6 hours per day from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM during a 9-month school year, with an excellent benefit package including sick and personal leave, paid holidays, medical, dental, vision, and retirement (PERS).

Qualifications

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Math skills including basic calculations.
• Ability to work with detailed information/data and maintain confidentiality.
• Must be able to work with both hands and in a fast and efficient manner.
• Per DEC regulations, must have or be able to pass Food Handlers course 30 days after hire and maintain certification.

Job description

Job Summary:

Prepares pre-plated meals necessary for service in elementary and secondary schools. Large quantity production performed while adhering to federal National School Lunch Program (“NSLP”) regulations. Ensures that a quality, nutritious and cost-effective meal program is available daily to students, staff, and parents, and the community.

Starting Hourly Rate:

Grade 3A: $17.96 - $20.05 DOE

Internal Hourly Rate:

Determined by the ESSA Negotiated Agreement

Work Hours:

6 hours per day, 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Work Year:

9 months
