Job summary

Kaizen Lab Inc. is seeking a part-time guest services helper for the Kids Room at the Maryland Science Center. The role requires 2-3 days per week, including Friday and Saturday afternoons, with seasonal candidates welcome.

You will greet visitors, engage children and adults, lead simple activities, and help with setup and cleanup. Training will be provided, and a background check is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of general behaviors and abilities of young children.
• Knowledge of appropriate language and actions for interactions with young children.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain imperturbable and composed in all situations.
• Ability to plan and lead creative arts and crafts activities that encourage imagination and hands-on learning.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate guest experience in the Kids Room.
• Interact with guests in developmentally appropriate ways and model good early childhood practices for others.
• Assist in preparation and implementation of early childhood programming.
• Assist with maintenance and cleaning of Kids Room supplies and equipment.
• Attend training as directed by supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
