Job summary

Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) seeks an EXL Program Instructor for our school-based program sites in the San Rafael area. The role focuses on delivering high-quality expanded learning experiences that support academic, social-emotional, and developmental growth of K–12 youth.

Responsibilities include building trusting relationships, supporting SEL, addressing behavioral concerns, and collaborating with families and school staff.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher, or 48 college units, or passage of the Instructional Aide exam.
• Criminal background check and TB clearance completed.
• Able to work during after-school hours through the academic year.
• Experience with K–12 youth in educational, enrichment, or community settings.
• Ability to build positive relationships with youth from diverse backgrounds.
• Mandated Reporter certification and other required trainings.
• Ability to supervise and engage up to 22 youth.
• Proficient with email, Google Drive, and program management platforms.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, or related field.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships and a sense of belonging for disengaged or struggling students.
• Support students’ social-emotional learning through relationship-building and restorative practices.
• Address conflict, bullying, exclusion, and behavioral concerns using restorative approaches.
• Notify the coordinator immediately of safety incidents or concerns.
• Collaborate with families and caregivers while maintaining confidentiality.
