Allied Universal is seeking a Juvenile Correctional Security Officer - Part Time Access in Columbia, SC. You will verify credentials, monitor entry points, and provide customer service to staff and youth program participants at a government juvenile services location.

Responsibilities include maintaining visitor logs, responding to incidents, and enforcing site policies using our access-control technologies. Prior security experience and a high school diploma are preferred.

Qualifications

• Tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations for DPSS/DHS.
• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, a background investigation will be conducted.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories.
• As a condition of employment, a drug screen may be required.

Responsabilités

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, contractors, and youth-related program participants while carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor entry and exit points at a government juvenile services location, verify credentials and visitor authorization, maintain visitor logs, and direct individuals according to established procedures.
• Help deter unauthorized access by observing activity at assigned entrances, controlling access to restricted areas, and reporting suspicious or prohibited activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner while following established reporting and notification protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, building perimeters, and access points, documenting observations and reporting maintenance concerns or access-control issues.
