Job summary

Middlebury College's Snowbowl/Rikert Nordic Center seeks a part-time Snow School Instructor to teach ski and snowboard lessons to guests of all ages and abilities, serving as a mountain ambassador and helping create a welcoming learning environment.

Eligibility starts at age 14; the role is hourly, non-benefits eligible, with passes and discounts for staff and dependents. You will join a team that collaborates across departments to deliver safe, enjoyable lessons.

Qualifications

• Proficient ski and/or snowboard skills.
• Able to work in a team environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Must be flexible – willing to adapt and improvise for effective teaching of skills.
• Must have ability to connect with people and understand group dynamics.
• Knowledge of safety procedures for missing or injured students and guests.

Responsibilities

• Teaches ski and/or snowboard lessons to guests of all ages and abilities and acts as a mountain ambassador.
• Works as part of a team dedicated to creating the best possible environment for taking and teaching a ski or snowboard lesson.
• Works cooperatively with all Snowbowl departments. Prepared to assist other departments as needed.
