Job summary

Samost Jewish Family and Children’s Service (JFCS), an agency of the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey, is seeking a Part-Time Job Support Staff to provide pre-vocational/employment training at community work sites in Cherry Hill, NJ. This role focuses on supporting individuals with disabilities and coordinating with supervisors and staff.

The position entails 5–15 hours weekly during daytime hours, with off-site client work and JFCS office duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, or related field, or two years’ experience with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word and Outlook) and basic PC skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform routine tasks.
• Excellent project management and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document task/job analysis at the job site to break down the job responsibilities into teachable components.
• Prepare and document routines that client performs at the worksite.
• Advocate for individuals with disabilities, fostering coworker relationships at the worksite.
• Monitor client/students’ progress through frequent communication with the client’s supervisor.
• Monitor client/students’ safety at the work site.
• Report progress/concerns to the Manager of Job Support Staff via phone, email, or meetings.
• Review and respond to emails or texts from the Manager regarding scheduling and changes.
• Attend staff meetings/in-service when schedule permits.
• Complete daily progress note documentation as required by JFCS, DDD and contracted districts.
• Communicate effectively with employers, employees, and other professional staff.
