General Description

SUNY Niagara has a need for a part time Japanese Instructor to teach courses within the Humanities and Social Sciences division. This position will be responsible for teaching students throughout the academic semester.

Typical Work Activities

• Teach courses in the delivery format agreed upon (on campus, hybrid, blended or online)
• Track attendance as needed
• Report on student learning outcomes at the end of the semester
• Report grades at the conclusion of the semester

Essential Functions

• Ability to work with and teach a diverse student population
• Ability to speak in front of groups of people
• Must be able to effectively communicate with students, coworkers, supervisors and the campus community
• Must be able to develop, prepare and present information
• Must be able to operate computers
• Must be able to physically perform the duties of the position

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Japanese, Japanese Education, Education, Applied Linguistics, or related degree

Desirable Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Japanese or Japanese Education
• Secondary school teaching experience
