Job summary

The Town of Fort Myers Beach is seeking a dedicated Emergency Services Ranger to join our team on a part-time basis (30 hours per week). This role supports the island's safety, cleanliness, and orderly operations, patrolling from bay to beach and responding to emergencies.

You will enforce local codes, provide basic first aid, manage traffic during events, and document incidents with detailed reports. A strong customer service orientation and ability to work weekends are important.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Five years in community, public safety, or customer service.
• FEMA ICS/NIMS training IS-100.C, IS-200.C, IS-700.B, IS-800 or able to obtain within 3 months.
• Parking Enforcement Specialist certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive patrols throughout the Town to ensure public safety and enforce Town Code.
• Document areas of concern with incident reports for follow-up and recordkeeping.
• Maintain a highly visible presence to educate the public and deter improper activity.
• Serve as a traffic control officer to maintain safe traffic flow during events and emergencies.
• Provide basic first aid and assist in emergencies until relieved by law enforcement or EMS.
• Apply de-escalation techniques to manage conflicts and support public safety.
