Job summary

Harford County Sheriff's Office is seeking a part-time Temporary Inventory Specialist in Bel Air, MD. The role focuses on managing the agency’s inventory system, maintaining asset records, and processing transfers, storage and disposal of property.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 3 years in property or inventory management. A valid driver's license, background check, medical exam and drug screening are required, with potential overtime and comp time.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years experience in property management or inventory.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record and no DUI convictions.
• Must pass background investigation, medical exam and drug/alcohol screening.
• Handwriting sample must be provided for review.

Responsibilities

• Manage the operation of the Agency's inventory system.
• Maintain property records and affix numbered inventory tags.
• Coordinate actions for physical inventories and reconcile records.
• Record and audit inventory items; monitor cyclic/annual checks.
• Oversee inter‑agency transfers, disposals and surplus items.
• Evaluate serviceable items for disposal and surplus paperwork.
• Monitor procurement of new assets to be recorded.
• Draft policies on property accounting and reuse.
