Banner Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, WY seeks a part-time Surgical Technologist (Senior Surgical Tech) to join a fast-paced operating room team. The role includes preparing instruments, passing tools, maintaining aseptic technique, and assisting with turnover and supplies.

BLS certification is required, along with a high school diploma or GED and state registration where applicable. Experience in a certified surgical technology program is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED and current basic life support certification.
• Where applicable must be registered with State Regulatory Agency.
• The position requires manual dexterity, professionalism under stress, conscientiousness, organization, and quick response to surgeon/patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for surgical procedures. Pulls appropriate instruments and supplies and ensures good working order of instruments.
• Anticipates the surgeon's needs. Passes instruments and retracts tissue.
• Demonstrates aseptic technique and universal precautions throughout the procedure; disposes of sharps, trash and prepares instruments for cleaning.
• Ensures that all surgeon preference cards and pick lists are accurate.
• Assists with OR turnover and stocking, replenishing supplies and cleaning operating rooms.
• May provide business support to the department including administrative tasks.
• Participates in or leads training of surgical technology staff and students.
