Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University seeks part-time adjunct faculty to teach Focused Inquiry courses on an as-needed basis. Adjuncts join a collaborative teaching community and participate in shared curricula to ensure consistent learning objectives across sections.

Responsibilities include delivering instruction for UNIV111, 112, and/or 200, maintaining office hours, and communicating with students outside of class. A master’s degree is required with preference for past college teaching excellence.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated excellence in college-level teaching.
• Experience teaching general education courses is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach UNIV111, UNIV112, and/or UNIV200 as part of the Focused Inquiry sequence.
• Be available for student questions outside class via office hours and email.
• Contribute to shared curricula and ensure learning objectives across sections are met.
