  • At least one year of relevant experience with children and families.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and family therapy in the child's home or community.
  • Engage children and caregivers in strength-based, family-centered treatment.
  • Implement interventions per the authorized plan of care.
  • Help children develop emotional regulation, communication, coping and problem-solving skills.

PART-TIME INTENSIVE IN-COMMUNITY (IIC) THERAPIST
Children and Families | Flexible Field-Based Position

Private Care Management & Consultation Services is seeking compassionate, dependable and skilled Intensive In-Community Therapists to provide therapeutic services to children, adolescents and families in their homes and communities.

This is an excellent part-time opportunity for a clinician who wants meaningful, flexible work helping young people remain safely connected to their families and communities.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The IIC Therapist provides short-term, goal-focused therapeutic interventions to children and families experiencing emotional, behavioral or family challenges. Services are delivered primarily in the family's home or another approved community setting.

The therapist will work collaboratively with the child, caregiver, Care Management Organization, Child Family Team and other involved professionals to support stabilization, strengthen family relationships, build coping skills and improve daily functioning.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide individual and family therapy in the child's home or community
  • Engage children and caregivers in strength-based, family-centered treatment
  • Implement interventions consistent with the authorized plan of care
  • Help children develop emotional-regulation, communication, coping and problem-solving skills
  • Assist caregivers with strengthening parenting strategies and family relationships
  • Provide psychoeducation and practical skill-building interventions
  • Identify safety concerns and follow required crisis and reporting procedures
  • Collaborate with caregivers, care managers, schools and other treatment providers as authorized
  • Participate in Child Family Team and treatment-planning meetings when required
  • Complete accurate progress notes and other clinical documentation within required timeframes
  • Participate in required clinical supervision, training and quality-assurance activities
  • Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA, Medicaid, CSOC and agency requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, marriage and family therapy, nursing or another approved behavioral-health field
  • Active New Jersey credential or license in good standing, such as LSW, LAC, LAMFT, LCSW, LPC, LMFT, psychologist or another qualifying behavioral-health credential
  • At least one year of relevant experience working with children and families with behavioral or mental-health needs
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed, strength-based and family-centered practices
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently while remaining connected to the treatment team
  • Availability during after-school, evening or weekend hours based on family needs
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license and current automobile insurance
  • Ability to travel to families' homes within assigned New Jersey service areas
  • Ability to successfully complete all required criminal-history, child-abuse, Medicaid, CSOC and agency screenings
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous IIC, outpatient, in-home, crisis-response or community mental-health experience
  • Experience working with children affected by trauma, anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges or family conflict
  • Bilingual or multilingual clinicians are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Familiarity with New Jersey's Children's System of Care and electronic clinical documentation

WORK SETTING

This is a field-based position. Services are provided primarily in children's homes and approved community settings. This is not a fully remote position.

SCHEDULE

Part-time with flexible scheduling. Therapists should have some availability during afternoons, evenings or weekends when children and caregivers are most available.
