Job summary

Rogers Behavioral Health in Wisconsin seeks an Intake Specialist to serve as the first contact for patients and families. You will welcome patients, educate them on admissions, collect and verify data, and register in Cerner.

This role supports crisis de-escalation, ensures compliant documentation, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team for appropriate care levels. Part-time 0.5 FTE with alternating shifts, weekend coverage, and potential cross-location support.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• CPR certification within thirty (30) days of hire.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) training within sixty (60) days.
• Mental health experience preferred.
• Computer skills including word processing and EHR use.
• Insurance/billing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes patients and caregivers to the facility.
• Meet with admitting patients to educate them regarding admissions and ensure a seamless transition.
• Gather, confirm and input medical, insurance and demographic information.
• Register patients in the Cerner system and manage admission documents.
• Explain forms to patients/guardians and obtain signatures for admissions.
• Coordinate with the multi-disciplinary team to support reimbursement and care decisions.
