Job summary

University of California, Merced invites applications for Part-Time Instructor positions within the Teacher Preparation Program (TPP) for 2026-2027. Roles are by-agreement, semester-based contracts, teaching either face-to-face or online and coordinating with TPP leadership to meet program goals.

Appointments may cover Fall, Spring, and/or Summer terms; instructors participate in required UC trainings and professional development consistent with program needs.

Qualifications

• A minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience (TK-16).
• Master's degree in a related field.
• Experience with online instruction and diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Deliver assigned TPP courses face-to-face or online.
• Attend instructor orientation and monthly meetings.
• Prepare, grade, and support students outside class hours.
• Lead program admission interviews as needed.
• Complete UC trainings including ethics and safety.
