Part‑Time Instructor Pool – American Sign Language

Location: Santa Barbara, CA
Job Type: PT Credit Faculty

Compensation

Hourly Rate: $82.33 – $115.20
Start rates for non‑doctorate holders are $102.90 per hour for lecture and $82.33 per hour for lab. For holders of a doctorate, the rates are $107.87 per hour for lecture and $86.30 per hour for lab.

Responsibilities

Provide quality instruction and create an environment that emphasizes teaching, learning, and free discussion of ideas, interests, and issues. Instructional duties include lecture and lab classes as determined by the department, and part‑time faculty must be available to students outside of class sessions.

Essential Qualifications
  • Minimum qualifications approved by the California Community Colleges Board of Governors as defined in the Minimum Qualifications for Faculty and Administrators handbook.
  • Bachelor’s degree or two years of related experience (or any associate degree plus six years of experience).
  • Evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff.
  • For degrees that do not exactly match the titles listed in the minimum qualifications, an equivalency review must be requested and supporting documents submitted with the application.

Selection Process
