Part‑Time Instructor Pool – Communication

Salary: $82.33 – $115.20 hourly

Essential Functions of Position

Provide quality instruction, create and maintain an environment that encourages discussion of ideas, interests, and issues. Primary duties of part‑time faculty members involve curriculum and teaching across lecture and lab classes as determined by the department. Faculty must be available to students outside of class hours.

Part‑Time Faculty Salary

• Starting credit part‑time faculty rate (salary table 11): $102.90 per hour for Lecture and $82.33 per hour for Lab.
• With a doctorate: $107.87 per hour for Lecture and $86.30 per hour for Lab.

Education and Experience

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in speech, speech broadcasting, telecommunication, rhetoric, communication, communication studies, speech communication, or organizational communication.
• OR Bachelor’s in any of the above fields plus a Master’s degree in drama/theater arts, mass communication, or English.
• OR a combination of education and experience equivalent to the requirements above. Applicants applying on the basis of equivalency must submit an Application for Equivalency along with all other required materials.
• Evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff.
